
James Hay
BSc MBA BLitt(Hons) PhD
James is a corporate finance professional who has over 30 years’ experience gained primarily in the mining, energy, and education industries. He has held roles in corporate treasury, business development, project evaluation, financial analysis, risk management and gas marketing. He has worked for major organisations such as Western Mining, Mitsui and Mitsubishi, and the Victorian Government.
Since 1998 he has operated his own consulting company providing financial evaluation and executive education services throughout Australia and Asia. His qualifications include a degree in Geology and Applied Mathematics, a Master of Business Administration degree from Cornell University and a PhD from the University of Melbourne.
For the past fifteen years while consulting to industry he has also been a Fellow at the Macquarie University Applied Finance Centre in Sydney where he teaches courses in Valuation, Financial Statement Analysis and Modelling, and Natural Resources Investment.
